What is one thing you can do today to be the man you know you are meant to be?
Too often we put off doing things in our lives that we know will benefit us, make us better, allow us to give more and be more for others. We each may have our different reasons for this, but the end results are all the same.
No change. No growth. No impact.
Sometimes I can think too far ahead about a goal I have.
If I want to exercise daily, I can’t wake up Monday morning thinking about the exercise I will need to do Tuesday through Friday. Sometimes I can’t even think about arriving at the gym that same morning.
I need to keep the action small, simple. Do something that is easy for me to do.
For exercise, I can put on my workout clothes. Hmm, not so bad. I can get in my car, sit relaxed, and drive toward the gym. Huh, seems easy. I can walk into the gym. Wow, I’m here. I can stand on the treadmill and start walking. You get the idea.
If you want to read 12 books in a year, you start by getting one book to read, not 12. After you have the book, you read one paragraph or one page. Maybe you read for one minute. Whatever the small step is you can do, you do it. Keep doing the small steps and the book gets read. Rinse and repeat.
Are you capable of doing a small step? If you say no, then the step is too large. Break it down into smaller steps.
What is the point of only doing a small step?
Taking a small step moves you and me from inaction to action. It moves us from a stationary state to a body in motion. Bodies in motion are more easily able to continue in motion.
Our motion creates more actions, and more actions bring us more results.
So, I bet you have a goal that is important to you. One that will help you become the man you want to be. True?
What is one small step you can do today, do right now, that will move you from a stationary position to a man in motion towards you goal? I would love to hear.
