Hello, men. I’m Todd with Empowered Men Coaching, coming to you from a peaceful green space here in Sabaneta, Colombia. Today, I want to talk about something many of us are feeling right now — uncertainty. Whether it’s your job, your relationship, your future, or just life in general, these uncertain times can shake your confidence and leave you feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

But here’s the truth: You don’t have to let uncertainty control you. You can choose confidence — even when things feel unstable. Here are three practical tips to help you stay confident and move forward during uncertain times.

1. Recognize What You Can Control

One of the biggest traps during uncertain times is focusing on things you cannot control. When your mind spirals around these uncontrollable factors, confidence takes a hit.

Instead, focus your energy on what you can control. Ask yourself:

  • What is the very next action I can take today?

  • What small step can move me closer to my goals?

  • How can I improve my situation right now?

For example, if you’re worried about losing your job or changing careers, start updating your resume, join networking groups, or attend industry meetups. Taking action creates momentum, and momentum builds confidence.

2. Push Into the Difficult Things

Fear is natural when faced with uncertainty. It can shut us down or cause confusion and paralysis. But instead of avoiding fear, lean into it.

Develop mental toughness by showing up consistently, even when it feels uncomfortable. When you push through fear, new awareness and opportunities often emerge. You’ll find that you have a wealth of skills and experience to draw on — even in tough times.

Remember: Confidence isn’t the absence of fear, it’s acting despite fear.

3. Strengthen Your Circle

Confidence doesn’t only come from within — it’s also supported and strengthened by the people around you.

Surround yourself with positive, encouraging people who uplift you. These are the friends, mentors, or peers who inspire you to push forward and take action.

On the flip side, if you have toxic relationships draining your energy, it’s okay to distance yourself from them — especially during challenging times.

Build a support network that fuels your confidence and holds you accountable.

Final Thoughts: Own the Discomfort, Choose Confidence

Uncertainty is uncomfortable. We can’t see the whole picture, and that can create anxiety. But discomfort is normal — and temporary.

Own your feelings, but don’t let them control you. Focus on what you can control, build mental toughness by pushing into fear, and lean on your support circle.

If you ever want to talk, get guidance, or just share what’s on your mind, reach out to me. I’m here to help.

Remember, confidence isn’t about knowing everything or getting everything right — it’s about showing up and choosing confidence over fear.

Stay strong, stay empowered.
