Hey men,
Hope you’re doing awesome! As we’re nearing the end of this year, I just wanted to send you a quick note.
For those of you who I’ve worked with, it has been an incredible year. Congrats on your progress! And for those of you I haven’t yet directly worked with, thanks for being part of the community at Empowered Men Coaching!
Today, I want to share something important with you – understanding the difference between ‘the gap’ and ‘the gain’.
First up, ‘the gap’. This is the space between where you are now and where you want to be. It’s about those goals and dreams you’re chasing. Keep going! Having this gap is great because it keeps you moving forward and setting your sights high.
But, if you focus only on the gap, it can feel like you’re always chasing something out of reach, which can be kinda frustrating. More importantly, it sabotages your present experience.
So, let’s talk about ‘the gain’ – and this is where it gets exciting. The gain is all about celebrating what you’ve achieved. It’s recognizing how much you’ve grown, the challenges you’ve overcome, and the successes you’ve had. Can you recognize yourself here?
When you focus on the gain, you give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back. It’s about appreciating your journey and all the strides you’ve made. Sit with that a moment.
Think about your year, 2023. You set some goals – some you absolutely smashed, and others are still in progress. If you only look at the gap, it might seem like there’s always more to do. But when you focus on the gain, you get a whole new perspective. You see the new skills you’ve developed, the confidence you’ve built, the relationships you’ve strengthened, and the victories, big and small, along the way.
So, as this year winds down, I encourage you to take a moment for yourself. Reflect on these gains. Write them down, celebrate them, and recognize how far you’ve come. This isn’t just about feeling good; it’s about gearing up for what’s ahead with clarity and confidence.
Remember, the journey with me at Empowered Men Coaching isn’t just about hitting targets; it’s about personal growth, experiences, and enjoying the ride. Sure, the gap will always be there, and that’s okay – it’s a sign of your ambition and drive. But don’t forget to give yourself credit for the gain, because that’s where your strength and character really shine through.
Thanks for being such an integral part of this journey. I’m stoked to see what you’ll achieve next year. Let’s head into the new year with optimism, ready to embrace both the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead.
All the Best!
